Blizzard has released a new patch to World of Warcraft which finally fixes an ancient bug that has irritated its users for years.

In Update 6.1 you’ll find a few new features including a selfie cam, racing and new blood elf character models. But Blizzard has also tackled an older issue: A problematic bug that caused your camera to quickly jolt out of position when the user clicks the screen to smoothly move the angle of the camera.

This is described by Reddit user ZwuckeL who explains: “On random occasions WoW will center your mouse cursor for a split second when you either right or left click. Since the mouse button is often registered as clicked at that very split second, it will move the camera around in a weird way.”

While not a game-breaking bug, this issue did cause problems for players by turning their characters around randomly and causing mis-targeting.

Full patch notes are available right over here.

We’ve covered Microsoft’s Games with Gold every month since the program made its debut on the Xbox One last June. Some offerings have impressed us more than others, but I think it’s fair to say that the selection in March is the best yet.

rayman-legends

Xbox One owners with active Xbox Live Gold subscriptions will be able to download Rayman Legends for free starting on March 1st. Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends are two of the most improbably perfect platformers released on any console in the last generation, going toe-to-toe with the best of what Nintendo has to offer.

Whether or not you have any interest in Rayman as a character, you don’t want to miss out on Legends.

From March 1st – 15th, Tomb Raider will be free to download on Xbox 360. I’ve spoken about Tomb Raider in the past, but I’ll remind everyone once again that this was my favorite game of 2013. It’s a great reboot for the series, and now you can catch up before Rise of the Tomb Raider makes its way to Xbox One later this year.

Then, from March 16th – 28th, BioShock Infinite will take Tomb Raider’s place as the free Xbox 360 game. Infinite hits some stumbling blocks along the way, but there’s a reason it got as much attention as it did when it launched two years ago.

Microsoft also revealed that over 100,000,000 Games with Gold titles have been downloaded since the program began, and to celebrate, the company is offering twice the games in April. That means 2 free Xbox One games and 4 free Xbox 360 games. We’ll see if they can top March’s selection.

The first online review for The Order: 1886 has appeared. GamePlane tested the new PS4 exclusive and it seems that Ready At Dawn delivered a great game. The review praises the game’s graphics, story, atmosphere and sound, but criticizes the controls and overwhelming quick time events. Gameplane also noted the almost 11 hours spent to complete the highly re-playable campaign and gave the game an overall review score of 89% which is a ‘Superb’.

Sony has elected not to renew its trademark for The Last Guardian in the United States.

According to the game’s listing on the website of the office of patent and trademark in the US, Sony has not extended its trademark for The Last Guardian.

The image below is a screen grab of the webpage, serial number 85700141.

It’s important to note that this may still not reflect the status of the game’s development. Sony had abandoned the previous trademark it had for the same game once before (serial number 77750563).

The game could have also been given a new name.

Sony had confirmed all the way back in August last year that the game is still in development.

We can confirm that Microsoft is not only working on the capability of streaming Xbox One games to Windows 10 PCs, but they are also exploring the possibility of doing it the other way—streaming PC games through the Xbox One.

If their efforts are successful, Xbox One would receive literally thousands of game titles into its current library—enabling it to far out pace Sony’s PS Now offerings, while also allowing it to muscle its way into Valve’s Steam Machine territory.

The public beta for an upcoming Halo: The Master Chief Collection content update, designed to tackle ongoing matchmaking and party system issues, is canceled. Matchmaking has been busted in myriad ways since The Master Chief Collection’s launch in November on Xbox One, and Microsoft-owned development studio 343 Industries has issued a handful of patches to address these problems already — this update is expected to be a big one. In January, 343 said that “given the scale of the update,” it would invite Xbox One Preview Program members to test out the patch ahead of launch. And no, that’s not the normal way these things work.

Yesterday, 343 reversed that decision, writing in a new post, “After further evaluation, the team has determined that final testing for the content update will be completed internally, and we will not be conducting a beta test for the next CU.” Additionally, 343 said that preparing the beta would delay the actual patch (and that would be sad for owners of the game, of course).

There’s still no release date for the content update, and this week’s post reiterates that the patch will focus on matchmaking and party issues, plus other items that will be detailed in the future.

Changes are coming to Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and 343 Industries wants to get things right this time.

The developer announced today that it is inviting people in the Xbox One Preview program to participate in a closed beta for the next update to the sci-fi shooter collection. 343 makes it sound like this is the patch that will bring an end to the connection problems and bugs that have made the Halo bundle a major disappointment for fans. The update will focus on addressing problems with the matchmaking and party systems — both of which gamers have complained about since the game debuted in November. The beta test will go live on Friday, and you can sign up for a chance to take part through the Xbox Preview Dashboard app on your Xbox One if you are enrolled in that program.

“In recent weeks, we have been conducting extensive internal testing of an upcoming content update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection,” reads a blog post on the Halo website. “Given the scale of the update, which includes changes to the matchmaking experience and party system, we are expanding testing to include select members of the Xbox One Preview program to ensure the official release is the best possible experience for all players.”

This testing period is only open to players in North America. 343 explains that this restriction is because it wants as many people up and playing as possible during working hours.

The developer also mentions that you’ll have a better chance of getting into the beta if you spend a lot of time in the Master Chief Collection already.

“Xbox One owners within North America who are part of the Xbox One Preview program and have a copy of Halo: The Master Chief Collection with the highest levels of engagement are who we are targeting,” reads the post.

The test will run through the weekend and end on Monday — although, 343 did not specify exact times.

The recently announced slasher game, Friday the 13th has had it’s production forcefully halted by Kickstarter game developer, Sean S. Cunningham because of a supposed copyright infringement claim. Kickstarter received a cease & desist letter on Jan. 12, 2015, just days before the announcement of a possible Friday the 13th game which allegedly took many key elements from Cunningham’s slasher game, ‘Last Year’.  However, a few gaming insiders who are close to the Friday the 13th project have stated that Sean S. Cunningham “simply wants to stomp out the competition because his company has been struggling to strike a deal with any big name game developers.”

More from us as this story develops.
